Throughout the academic year, Harvard Medical School - frequently in collaboration with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health - provides several opportunities for employers to engage with our master’s students, doctoral students, and postdocs. An enormous part of their professional development is to connect trainees with industry leaders like yourself and for them to gain exposure to potential career paths in various fields. We would greatly appreciate your participation and hope you consider joining us for any upcoming programs.

Career Fairs/Expos (typically 2-3 hours in-person, infrequently virtual options)Required

Engage directly with top-tier candidates, collect application materials, and answer questions in real time. Across all campuses, Harvard hosts over 10 Career Fairs/Expos throughout the year, each with a particular industry theme (consulting, fintech, bio/pharma, etc.). Usually held on Friday afternoons, these Fairs are high-touch events where your team can build relationships, expand visibility, and explore meaningful opportunities for recruitment, research, and collaboration with the next generation of public health and life sciences leaders. Your organization does not need to be hiring to attend.


Are you interested in participating in Career Fairs/Expos?

Networking Breakfast (typically 2 hours in-person)Required

Connect over coffee and pastries with students who are interested in learning more about your industry and your own career journey. This is a great opportunity to share advice with students on how to navigate the job search space, provide insight about opportunities within the industry, and answer questions. Your organization does not need to be hiring to attend.


Are you interested in participating in Networking Breakfasts?

Site Visits (length of time is determined by employer, typically in-person)Required

Invite a limited number of select students to your workplace where they can observe operations and work culture, learn about different roles within your company, gain insights into the industry, and see how their classroom knowledge translates into practical application. Site visits are typically held in late afternoons or early evenings in order to accommodate students’ academic schedules.

Information Sessions (typically 1 hour in person or virtual)Required

Present your organization's mission, values, culture, research, projects, and typical hiring needs. Your organization does not need to be hiring to host an Information Session.

Recruiting Sessions (typically 1-2 hours in-person or virtual)Required

Highlight briefly your organization's mission, values, culture, research, and projects. The primary focus of Recruiting Sessions is to showcase current and potential hiring needs such as jobs, fellowships, internships, and research experiences. Time can also be set aside to formally schedule/hold job interviews with candidates.

Workshops (typically 1 hour in-person or virtual)Required

Lead a practical workshop to help students build essential job search skills and career development - résumé or cover letter writing, interview preparation, workplace communication, determining fit, understanding industry pathways, and more. Share your expertise to help prepare the next generation of professionals for the workforce.

Alumni Office Hours (typically 1-2 hours virtual)Required

Host Office Hours, a virtual space for students to connect with alums for informational interviews, résumé/CV reviews, or career coaching for 1 or 2 hours. This is a great opportunity to help our current students as they navigate the career search process.

Alumni Panel (typically 1 hour virtual, 3-4 alums at most)Required

Sit on a virtual panel to share your experiences and offer practical advice on working in your respective industry, including strategies for success, key challenges, and emerging opportunities.
